Plot / Synopsis
The film begins with a few lines of explanation: During the 1930's, in America, there was a sect composed of rich and eccentric libertines. They rejected any idea of love, considered artistic creation as a form of evil and tried to find in total sexual freedom the ecstasy of pure being. Following a conference that they called in New York in 1937, all members of the sect disappeared. Years later a journalist tracked them down to a secret location in the forrests of South America. He too was never heard of again.
"This film is the story of some of their daughters"
From out of a mist a huge flying boat wings it's way through the nighttime sky. Inside, resplendant in art deco gowns and perfect make-up, Spermula and her cohorts are on their way back to 'civilisation'. Their mission...? To bring their message of peace and freedom to a world gone mad. Their method...? To 'spermulise' men. That is, to draw off the sexual essence that causes aggression, aquisitiveness and jealousy. The women communicate by by means of telepathy, a power that they use to entice people into their circle. They take up residence in a huge mansion, whose neioghbours include the town's mayor, his unhappy and abused wife, his venal, social climbing assistant and a fat and frustrated widow who has incestuous designs on her lazy son. Gradually Spermula and co. draw together the strands of the plot that finally ends in a huge orgy in which everyone gets what they want - or at least what they deserve. Unfortunately, the women become corrupted by this contact with the outside world and their beautiful leader, Spermula, falls in love with a young artist and sacrifices her immortality for a night of passion with him.
Spermula is a great, intensionally funny sex/sci fi flick, and it got Udo Kier (the world's most handsome man!) in one of the major roles. What more could you possible need? The story is based around "spermulites", the alien inhabitants of a dying planet. The only way they can save their planet is by sucking the men of planet earth dry of sperm, kind of like horny vampires. Of course they take the shape of sexy girls, but Udo's character is mistakenly transformed into a man with a 1 centimeter long penis. It's a very dumb movie, but it got heart and wit. Unfortunely it's a bit overlong. And Udo's voice has been dubbed, ruining the day for all us "Udolites" who love to hear his sexy mid european accent. But it's still a good and fun flick, too well made to be labelled camp. They don't make erotic movies like this any more. Recommended. You might have some trouble trying to find a copy of this lost Udo gem, but it's well worth the effort.
According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eva_Ionesco Eva Ionesco's very first appearance in Filmography was on that film. By the way from IMDb we have the following trivia, which gives even more mystery to the situation:
In 1976 a German magazine featured an article, ranting in indignation about Irina Ionesco letting her then 11 year old daughter, Eva Ionesco, appear in this 'adult' film, and appearing naked at that (though evidently not in any sex scenes). This article included still shots of Eva from the set, both dressed and fully nude, as well as alongside other women who do appear in the film, so clearly she was attached to the project at one point or another. However, there are currently 3 different versions of this film floating around now-days, none of which has *any* scenes with Eva Ionesco, nor does any of them include her name in the credits. So it is highly plausible that all of her scenes were never intended to actually be included in the final version of the film, but whether the whole thing was just a publicity stunt orchestrated by her mother (one of quite a few in the mid 70's), or what other reasons there may have been is anyone's guess.

This is a VHSRip. Copy is above average for audio and fair for video. My estimate A9 / V7.

This uncut VHS version has the privilege of the participant in a small role of Eva Ionesco (protagonist in Maladolescenza, also available in this site). This is her very first movie and she is not even referred by IMDB. Quality is not the best, but it is still very watchable. Enjoy this rare, hard to get movie!
